1 day, 15 hours, 6 minutes

I don't have Goblet of Fire with me, so the long quote will come later, but here are some funny little moments:

Just then, Neville caused a slight diversion by turning into a large canary.

"I like a healthy breeze 'round my privates, thanks!"

And the part where Fred asks Angelina to the Yule Ball.

It was kind of hard to single out my favorite part of this one. I think that's because it's more plot-driven than the books on either side of it. Not that they're not complicated, or that GoF doesn't have nice character moments, but in PoA, especially, the drama and emotion come from the characters' relationships and interactions. It's all about how things that happened in the past have set the stage for the present. OotP is also more inward-focused.

Of course, I could look at the books differently tomorrow and change my mind.

My mom made up a new phrase the other day. Her cell phone was dying, so she said "I'll call you back in a few bits."

It was more than "a little bit" but less than "a while." :) Someday I may post the Fountain-to-English dictionary I've been working on.

I have to vet fic before I recommend it to my mom, much the way I would if I had a kid and wanted to be sure something wasn't too intense or graphic for his age. :) Yes, I let her read my Remus/Sirius story, but if I ever post one where they do any more than kiss, she won't be seeing that! (That's mostly embarrassment, though!) She's kind of... how do I say this without seeming condescending? She's more Disney than I am. In a good, Lilo-and-Stitch sort of way (as opposed to the saccharine way that most people mean by "Disney"), but still, there are many fine fics I would hesistate to suggest for her because I know she wouldn't like them. She rocks, but she's rather innocent. Remember that she thinks "butt" is a bad word. Then again, one time she sorta snapped and said, "You all say that word all the time and make fun of me for not saying it! Butt, butt, butt!" This was me, my dad, and my sister: O__O

Anyway, here's a story I can recommend to anyone unreservedly: Mind's Eye, Soul's Reflection: A Luna Lovegood story, by Mysterious Muggle. OotP from Luna's point of view. It's amazing so far.
