I was tagged by
rinnakins!
Once you have been tagged, you have to write a blog with 10 random things, facts, goals, or habits about yourself. At the end, choose 10 people to be tagged. Don't forget to leave them a comment (you're it!) to read your blog for instructions. You can't tag a person who has tagged you.
1. My real first name is purely decorative. No one, including my parents, has ever actually routinely used it. My parents call me my middle name or a childhood nickname. Everyone else calls me a different name altogether, one only sort of related to my real middle name.
2. I don't dot Is or Js when I write. I don't remember why I stopped, but it's a habit now.
3. I used to be one of those people who couldn't stand to have different foods touching on the plate. (Except mashed potatoes. Those were always the exception.) Thanks to my addiction to Indian food and the necessity of mixing up rice and shahi paneer korma, I got over it.
4. Why I think my writing process is broken: I get inspired to write a scene and write it. Then another scene occurs to me, which is usually the end of the story I've just started, or something that has to happen in the middle, or in some other wise totally disconnected from the original "must write this down" scene. I have a hard time making myself sit the hell down and connect scenes up in order, so it's hard for me to finish stuff. But writing fanfic has helped me a lot with this.
5. My Wrens obsession long since peaked and abated, but I would totally jump their bass player right this very minute. (See icon on this entry.)
6. All the other boys I'd pounce on are imaginary. (But some girls I might are not.)
7. I was married for four years right out of college. Sometimes I forget this, even though he and I still talk sometimes, and meet up whenever I'm in San Francisco.
8. <-- I have that many cats. I had four and fostered four siblings, and well... Their names are: Lewis Barnavelt, Lunabelle, Teddy Ballgame, Sterling, Anyanka, Orange Julia, Mona Lisa, and Spike. (They get called: Birdie, Tuney, Ted, Sterl, Anya, Julie, Monie, and Bug.)
9. Come hell or high water, I am moving back to Seattle before 2010.
10. I almost went to Oberlin College, but I visited during finals, and the desertedness of campus really emphasized how very out in the middle of nowhere it is, so I picked Brown instead. That was the right choice; I loved college.
I won't tag anyone, but do it if you like!

Date: 2008-04-10 06:55 pm (UTC)Pretty much the same with me. I only get called my real first name if I'm being admonished. I... can't even remember the last time someone outside my family (or even my mother, actually) called me by my first name.
All the other boys I'd pounce on are imaginary. (But some girls I might are not.)
Same.
8. <-- I have that many cats.
I envy you. ;_;
