Is ":-(" an adequate response to owing taxes?

It felt like I flirted with boys all last weekend, and yet it appears I'm not going to get a single date out of it.

Bachelor #1 has known me long enough that if he were gonna do something, he would've done it by now. I think. It's awfully hard to tell with him. And I'm only ambivalently attracted to him anyway. It's more like a subconscious attraction. I never look at him and get the guh, but every time we're hanging out together, I go into "OK, touching you a lot, I guess" mode without even realizing it.

Bachelor #2 is real pretty, but probably a pothead. Oh well.

Bachelor #3 is very sweet, but probably too much of a wimp to ask me out. Oh well.

I've been cleaning my study and have found the floor. I also found a blank Rhode Island state income tax form that I have kept since I lived there (it's been 10 years) because of this...

Oh, that sad little frowny face makes me chortle every time. Its left eye is just a little smaller than its right, for extra cute pathos. Not to mention the humor inherent in the fact that RI put a smegging smiley and frowny face on a state form.

Honestly, when I was doing tax prep for Jackson Hewitt (H&R Block's main competitor ... basically, the Burger King of tax preparation), I had clients that asked me what "balance due" meant.

I am saddened, but not surprised.

However, I prefer thinking the RI tax board couldn't control their whimsy to having to accept that people are so dumb that they need "This line bad" and "This line good" pictograms.

I too find it charming.
