The timing worked out quite brilliantly so that I no longer have to commute over to the Evil Empire just as the rainy season and the baseball playoffs are starting. For the next few days, I'm an Angels fan. I may even watch some of the NL division series to see how comically
ordinarywhirled's boys whup the Padres.
I plan to use what feels like a vacation to do some housecleaning, both physical and mental. My study and my brain are full of stacks of things I'm holding onto for no good reason. I may not be as much of a practicing witch as I could be, but my internal calendar is firmly set with Samhain as the end of the year. I feel that it's October, not December, that gives the year the colorful sendoff it deserves.

Re: Commute
Press is kind of the ugly stepchild of the Evil Empire, as far as I can tell. The trend has been to have fewer and fewer people but the same amount of work. I think the secret goal is to have no actual employees and somehow still produce books. It would be a brilliant business strategy if it were possible!
Re: Commute
Wow. Maybe we should have a phone conversation at some point since we seem to be so good at these back and forth messages :)
