It's officially late summer; I have begun rooting for the A's to lose so my Red Sox can get the wild card. (Though, hope springing eternal and all, I've still got my fingers crossed for the AL East.)

I got a bit of the flashback scene written, but stalled when I got to the really hard part. It's tough trying to make a shift of perceptions that happens solely in Mercy's mind as vivid as it needs to be.

How is it more miserable in my house today when it's cooler outside than yesterday? My widdle head hurts. Wah. Going outside with ice water.

Homemade screen (just one, alas). The kitties think they want to go outside, even though they are scared if I take them, but are very poor escape artists.
