Dear Tennessee,

So you passed your little anti-gay-marriage amendment. And not just by a little. By 80% jerkwad bigots to 20% sane, nice people. I am even more ashamed than usual to be from here.

In fact, you know what, Tennessee? Fuck you. That's right. Fuck you right up the ass. I officially disown you as of now.

no love,
darkluna

Ignorant fucks. Whatever happened to "live and let live?" [profile] isrephael nailed it when he said some people make themselves happy by denying the happiness of others. Maybe a municipality breakdown might help assuage your self-loathing? Perhaps Chattanooga (or parts thereof) were more ... ahem ... open-minded than say, Clarksville.

And go hang out with the 20 percent.

I'm proud of our swing-state Missouri for putting a woman Democrat in the Senate (by the hardest) and passing the stem-cell ammendment (by the hardest).

Nah, Hamilton county was just about 80/20. But it's not self-loathing.

If 20% of the people I encounter on a daily basis were cool, it would be a step up.

But go MO!

I hate Wisconsin's new constitutional amendment.

It was already "not legal" to marry someone of the same sex... now marriage is defined as a "union between one man and one woman". Yes, they felt the need to specify NUMBERS as well.

Damn, won't be starting my man whore harem and marrying them all. XD RARRRR at my dumb state!

[identity profile] darkluna.livejournal.com 2006-11-08 03:17 pm (UTC)(link)
Yep, that's what Tennessee's was too, and they had also already outlawed gay marriage itself. This is just unnecessary and mean-spirited.

Who will fight for our right to have manwhores? WHO? ;-)

Something tells me they particularly wouldn't like the ass-fucking part. ;)

I'm disturbingly disappointed at 7 out of 8 states. It's just ridiculous. I totally don't understand HOW people can think that this is okay! It's fucking...GAH. *kills everyone* I want the right to marry, goddammit!

[identity profile] isrephael.livejournal.com 2006-11-08 06:02 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, they'd like it as much as anyone else. They just wouldn't tell anyone about it.

[identity profile] killertofu.livejournal.com 2006-11-08 08:11 pm (UTC)(link)
That is the truest statement I have ever seen/heard. :D

Isn't that what they voted against?

"Ticket to hell? Aisle seat, please."

[identity profile] darkluna.livejournal.com 2006-11-08 03:59 pm (UTC)(link)
Isn't that what they voted against?

Exactly. >;-) A simple "fuck you" would have sufficed otherwise.

You know? I mean, what you want (and where you want it, I guess) in the privacy of your own home is nobody's freaking business!

I could get far more perverse about this (and with my original comment to your journal, that's saying a lot), but I think I'll just leave the talking to Jon Stewart, who I think put it best when he spoke about the supposed dangers of gay marriage when it passed in Massachusetts: "ummm...does this mean we all have to marry gay?"

That still makes me want to say, "Yes, Jon, you do. You have to marry Anderson Cooper. "

[identity profile] needfulthings.livejournal.com 2006-11-08 05:59 pm (UTC)(link)
I watched Anderson on TV last night while tracking the results of yesterday's elections, and thought to myself, "man, I miss 'The Mole'".

this was a fucked-up election. yeah, some good came of it (dems takin' back the house, rummie gone), but still, the governator reigns, and a lot of good measures didn't get passed, and tennessee and virginia have decided to be hateful closeminded fucks.

Ironically, it's Arizona, the state that denied Martin Luther King, Jr. day, that refused to pass a ban on gay marriage.

I just don't understand stuff. Elections always depress me.
