I went to see Goodness last night, and they were wonderful. I happened to buy These Days at a time when three of the songs on it were either something I really needed to hear, or rang so true for me that I still kind of get emotional about it. If I had a bad day at work, I'd put on "The River," and hearing Carrie sing "It doesn't have to be this hard" would make me feel better. If I had a bad boy experience, I'd put on "Boy Glory" and belt out the "never again" part. They're one of those bands who were there when I needed them, when I didn't even know I needed their songs, and I love them for that. They didn't do any of the three that are kind of My Songs, but they played a lot of songs I also love. And they sounded great, and looked like they were having a great time, and it was just generally The Awesome.

Plus I got to go with [livejournal.com profile] zinnea and her friend K, and they RAWK. (Let's all make the devil sign with our hand here. Good. :-)) Over the last few months of ridiculous work hours and having eight kitties, I had so missed hanging out with nifty people. So yay for you guys! And thanks to them, I got to meet the lovely and talented Danny Newcomb, who was super-nice, and fun-eee, and evil, but in a good way. *grins*

I'm supposed to finish a second draft of my kind-of-Arabian Nights story this weekend, or my writing friends will beat me, but I started something else and it's still in the stage where I have to have pen and paper with me at all times because the characters keep doing stuff in my head even after I stop writing.
