Jul. 9th, 2004 05:14 pmEmboldened by my recent success, I'm going to try to be more adventurous with my cooking. I had a recipe for wild rice & mushrooms that looked boring, so I improvised a bit. It was ultra-lowfat, which I fixed. :-) I mean, for the love of god, you have to saute onions and garlic in a little oil. I ended up with wild rice plus celery, green beans, dill, various Italian spices, onion, garlic, and three kinds of mushrooms. It's good!
This weekend I'm going to celebrate Seattle's return to cool, rainy form by making an acorn squash/apple thing with pecans. Then I'm going to try to make a Thai green curry that actually tastes like Thai food with broccoli, lentils, cilantro, coconut milk, red pepper, and green curry paste. I am doubtful about the lentils, but both recipes I'm basing it off of use them.
And tomorrow I'm going to kiss more pretty gothchildren. Better than therapy, and cheaper.
The NESN announcers said something that reminded me of the best thing about Red Sox Nation I've ever heard: Man, you Red Sox fans... not only is the glass half empty, what's in there is POISON!
Hee hee hee hee.
