Jan. 21st, 2005 11:37 amI admit it, I've been watching Point Pleasant. I started mostly because of Marti Noxon's involvement. I can't say it's a good show. However, neither is it a thoroughly reprehensible show. (As opposed to Simple Life 3, which god knows I won't watch, but whose very existence makes me want to send email to Fox's programming folks that says simply "Why do you hate us?")
The acting isn't great, and the stuff that's supposed to be scary is telegraphed so much in advance that you just roll your eyes when it finally happens. And all the "teenagers" are actually about 25. Someone needs to tell Elisabeth Harnois that no matter how very pretty you are, if all you can do is look like a very pretty deer frozen by headlights, well. Let's just say your career will not be one of limitless choice.*
So why do I watch it? It has a cool look. I like what they've been doing with the crows. But I watch it mostly because I know the bodies are gonna start piling up soon, and since I'm actively rooting for the demise of about half the characters, odds are good I'll be happy when they do.
*On the other hand, I saw when I looked up the spelling of her name that she's in the Strangers with Candy movie, which bumps my opinion of her up quite a bit.
