Feb. 19th, 2005 11:06 amI've had "I Am a Rock" stuck in my head for some reason this morning. One of the many, many LPs my parents had was Simon & Garfunkel's Greatest Hits, and I listened to it quite a bit when I was little. I ought to get myself a copy! Also, the White Album. "Ob La Di, Ob La Da" was the road trip theme song for me and my dad. Somewhere there is a travel diary I wrote (for my mom, who stayed home) when he and I drove up to visit Brown when I was a high-school senior, and it has things like "10 AM: Green road!" and "noon: Ob La Di, Ob La Da" on it. I didn't note that we were only in Maryland long enough that I lit a cigarette as we entered, then he had one, and then we were out. :-) My dad knew I smoked in 1990. My mom didn't officially know for another 7 years.
My boss is visiting Seattle this weekend, so we get to hang out. Yay! She is a really cool boss.
Tonight I'm probably taking my new scarily short hair out to a show for the first time. Lee Rude & the Trainwrecks are playing and I lurve them.
edited to add: I have finally gotten around to reading The Eyre Affair, which many of my friends were raving about a while ago. Anyone else lagging, read it now! I was pretty tempted to stay up all night with it.
