I think my interview for the tech editor job went well. They do have a talent there for asking dumb questions. Usually they ask "How do you stay organized?" and I feel stupid when I say "I make lots of lists," even though it's the truth. Today I was asked "Have you ever known that people on your team weren't speaking up, and how did you cope with it?" It's not really a problem I've ever had. So we skipped that one, and I felt stupid again, but I have all the qualifications they want, so I'm optimistic overall. It's a much better fit for me than any job for which I've interviewed lately.

This past Saturday [livejournal.com profile] zinnea and I went to the mall, and had yummy Mexican food, and saw clothes on sale by an astonishing amount, but I resisted the urge to buy anything since nothing leapt at me demanding to be bought. That night I went to a party for She-of-the-Ghost-LJ [livejournal.com profile] tvnewseditor's sweetie, celebrating his anniversary of coming to the US. It was fun, and there were going to be games later, but alas, I had to work Sunday to get a book ready to send to print Monday, so I had to leave early.

My time in hell is almost over. I had a book going out last Friday, one yesterday, and one this Friday. At last everything is under control, so today I'm just waiting for chapters from other people, waiting to hear about my interview, and making lovely big puffy chocolate-chip cookies.

I got stuff from Netflix that isn't Inuyasha! Troy and The Thin Man. I'm looking forward to Troy for the pretties. :-) Also, my recollection of the mythology is hazy enough that I won't nitpick.

Note to self: do not read funny reviews of a movie before watching it, as that leads to two and a half hours of saying "In conclusion: Cousin" and giggling such that I miss vital exposition.

Or else making my own comments like "And then Boromir had an idea! Boromir had a terrible, wonderful idea!" and "Do you reckon Orlando Bloom rues the day he put archery in the Special Skills section of his resume?"*

*Yes, I realize he probably didn't learn it until Fellowship.
