I hopped back into Buffy, which they show on FX every morning, at the end of season 3, in time to see prom and graduation (both of which I love), but one episode too late to see "Earshot," darn it. I have this feeling I missed a whole season somewhere when ex-hubby and I were TV-less. When I get to the final episodes, though, I may have to skip the Caleb ones, since I think the cognitive dissonance between thinking Nathan Fillion is really hot and thinking that character is really creepy and awful would be a bad thing for my little brain.

I only have 3/4 of a bookcase to pack. It looks like I'm leaving with the same number of boxes of books I arrived with four years ago, which is nothing short of a miracle. Seriously, I think at least one of the laws of physics is being broken.

After the books, though, there is little else I can usefully pack with still a month to go (exactly a month as of today) before I leave.

Not too long ago I was horrified at seeing my reflection in profile, and resolved to lose weight as fast as ever I could. So I went and joined ediets and got vegan menus, which are surprisingly yummy and filling. Of course, ediets immediately started sending me a ton of crap ads and "special offers" and newsletters despite me saying no to the hundred or so attempts to add things to your membership that they make you click through before letting you actually join, and despite my going at once to the preferences page and telling them never to send me any such nonsense. So I've already cancelled, but I get two more weeks of menus. I've lost five pounds! I hate them, but their menus are great. Soon I might be willing to appear in public. Part of what horrified me was some especially bad PMS tummy bulgeage, but still. It was time to put my fat little foot down. With myself. Whatever.

Here are some poems from a book I'm about to pack.

I flipped to the Mavericks/Suns pregame coverage, and without even thinking, I cried out: "Look how shiny his hair is!"

No, no one could hear me but the cats. Yeah, I was talking about Steve Nash. Yeah, I'm a goober.

That game and the Red Sox/Yankees game really need to stop having their commercials at the same time.
