The needle has landed
Jul. 27th, 2007 10:24 amSeattle, yays!
I feel so strangely happy and sad being here.
I went up to where I used to live, and on the lots where my little duplex and the one next door were, there are five or six big condos being built, all tall and narrow and crammed together. Had bento with my friend S, who is actually moving to VA soon! Then I went to Gasworks, of course. It's always been a special place for me. The first time I visited Seattle, I think ChefBoy and I pretty much drove straight there, and it was there, standing on the sundial and looking out toward the city, that the world of the post-apocalyptic fairy tale dropped into my head, basically fully formed. I used to go out there to write almost every day when we first moved here and I didn't have anything else to do, and at least once a week even after I had a job (or two!). It was one of the last places I said goodbye to before I moved away. I might go back today. :-)
I'm heading to Uwajimaya in a minute. ♥ I have yet to find bubble tea in TN.
