Today I'm wearing a BPAL oil called Arkham, and it smells good, but I'm not quite sure about it. When it first went on, it seemed a little masculine. Now that it's worn a bit, something in it smells eerily like my ex-in-laws' house. The description says:

A shadowy, unapproachable forest of maple, birch, dogwood, cypress and pine softened by a garland of New England wildflowers: bergamot, columbine, rue anemone, blue violet, creeping phlox, bloodroot, toadflax, and pixie moss.

It definitely smells New England-y (the in-laws lived in Connecticut). I think it might be the combination of cypress and one or another of the flowers that makes it smell like their house. Lewis finds it fucking irresistible, and has been following me around even more than usual, purring even louder than usual, and trying to lick it off me. (I'm trying to simultaneously type and keep him from doing that right now!)

Can anyone suggest anything to keep my goddamn cats from peeing on my curtains? Washing them weekly (the curtains, not the cats :D) and dousing them with stuff that's supposed to prevent marking is not working.

I think I know how the rest of "Wind" is going to go, but I'm not happy with it yet. It doesn't seem clever enough. That's the problem with writing in the point of view of a character whose IQ tops yours by at least 50 points. *sigh*
