I don't remember who told me I would love Neutral Milk Hotel, but OMG, thank you!

Got In the Aeroplane Over the Sea as part of the birthday loot. Also: How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb; Mind, Body, and Soul by Joss Stone; from a basement on a hill by Elliott Smith; Floodland by Sisters of Mercy; Lucifuge by Danzig (I was oh so goth as a child); Cry Cry Cry; 69 Love Songs by Magentic Fields; and Agaetis Byrjun by Sigur Ros. And Chocolat.

Yeah, I racked up. Being 30 again roxx0rz. My mom said "Don't tell your dad how much I sent you!"

She is trying to get her Sims to breed in captivity.

I now have to spell O-C-T-O-P-U-S if Anya is listening and I'm not about to throw her catnip octopus for her to chase. It joins F-U-D and T-R-E-A-T as "words the cats will come running for if they aren't spelled out." Yet they don't understand "mine" and "no."

What are you going to do when she learns how to spell?

Don't laugh--my brothers' dad had a dog, Coco, who loved to go out for walks and wasn't overly concerned about whether or not she was on a leash or if anyone was with her. Over time she learned that when people said "goodbye" or "bye bye" or just "bye" that meant that soon, very soon, the front door would be opened. We all got in the habit of saying "B-Y-E" when we were ready to leave, which worked for all of six weeks or so until we discovered that she'd learned that "B-Y-E" led to the door opening, also.

But if I say to my mom, "Anya put her O-C-T-O-P-U-S in the water again," it doesn't result in the toy being thrown the way "Anya, octopus!" does. She has no context for the spelled-out version.

I imagine they will all eventually learn T-R-E-A-T, though. I spell it as if I'm not going to give them any and then cave and feed them pretty often.

Aeroplane Over the Sea is fan*freaking*tastic. Love love love it. Even before cardigangirl told me the obvious - that the entire thing is a love letter to Ann Frank.

On 69 love songs, I really like the silly ones: Reno Dakota and Washington DC. I forget the album, but do you have the one with "strange powers" and "desert island"? Strange Powers is my favorite Magnetic Fields song.
