I'd like it if the White Sox won it all. No one harps on their championship drought the way they always did on the Red Sox', even though the White Sox' drought has been longer. I think that in the folkloric collective morality of baseball fans, the Cubs and Red Sox are/were the victims of malevolent outside forces after pretty minor offenses (depending on your opinion of "No, No, Nanette"; I had a friend who swore it was the play that was cursed); but the White Sox brought their "curse" on themselves.

I'd like to see Chicago go nuts with glee, though. That would be happy.

I usually have to mute White Sox games. When I watch sports I almost always have a book, pen, or sewing project in hand, and if I'm not paying strict attention to the White Sox, every time the commentators say Crede, I hear 'Cready. And then I get this brief vision of a weird, troubling land where a relatively wee guitarist is a power hitter, Ben Rothlisberger is the next Bob Dylan, and I routinely display physical prowess. Of any kind. Gah, I shudder to think.

I caved in and bought Firefly on DVD after seeing just one episode. My love for Kaylee grows by leaps and bounds, and my love for Mal is catching up quick. I had a nice talk with the guys at the store about Fullmetal Alchemist, which must have sounded weird to any eavesdroppers, since we were trying to figure out how old Lust and Wrath were and when we first saw Greed. (Got a new FMA icon. *points* Purty.)

I had breakfast-for-late-lunch and tea with the lovely [livejournal.com profile] zinnea yesterday, and wore a moose as a hat. I thought it was quite fetching.

Mal love abounds on my end. I like Kaylee, but her grammar erros bug me, because I'm a snob. Also, they don't sound natural from the actress. Like she almost shudders to say "Them's ain't nothing to worry about." Of course, 500 years in the future maybe that IS the proper way to talk.

One would think the mistakes would bug me too, but somehow they don't. My Kaylee love began during Serenity (the movie, not the episode) when she said, "Goin' on a year now, I ain't had nothin' twixt my nethers weren't run on batteries." I consider the colorful grammar part of her charm. :)
