Is it too much to ask that clean sheets stay clean at least until they're on the bed? I mean, for fuck's sake.

My definition of "clean" is sufficiently broad that it basically means "Not covered in cat hair, and free of litter-dust pawprints," so really, not asking the world here.

In other news, I have given up all hope of finding true love in this lifetime because what's the sodding point.

If your household is anything like mine, that is definitely too much to ask.

After a two week period in which I changed the sheets seven or eight times due to things done by my pets, I kind of gave up. Given that I don't have seven sets of sheets and that it didn't stop raining for over a week, which makes it hard to line dry the sheets, I was umamused. The current sheets have paw prints on them. They don't stink or feel damp, squooshy or otherwise disgusting, so they'll do for a few more days. (There's nothing quite like stretching your feet out in the morning and hitting cold cat barf with one of them.)

Ugh. Believe me, I've been there. I guess I should be grateful that the littles grew up and learned how to get down from the bed once they're up, and thus don't poop up there anymore!

I haven't the first clue how you live with that many cats. It would drive me insane.

Also, don't obsess over the guy thing. You're all that and a bag of chips. The bee's knees, in fact. Well, except for the freaky number of cats...
But, remember, you don't find true love. True love finds you.

True love doesn't just show up at your doorstep one day. If you're sitting at home watching TV alone every night, it's not going to find you. If you never talk to anyone when you're out in public, it's not going to find you. If your expectations are too extreme or your requirements too persnickity, you're not going to find true love.

Then again, I believe that true love is more than a list of requirements.

Sorry, not trying to jump on you here because I totally agree that Ms.Luna here needs to chill on the ol'obsessing thing but I think that a lot of people use the concept of "true love finds you" as an excuse to be all passive about it and then turn bitter when it doesn't happen.

I guess I was just saying, albeit in kind of a bitter way, that it's time for me to quit trying to make things happen. If love wants me, it's gonna have to come get me, because I'm tired of trying to meet it halfway.
