He said: Some people would argue that "extremism has been strengthened by our presence in Iraq."

Oh, DO YA THINK?

Bush is shocked that someone might think some of the mess there might kinda sorta be our fault? All we did was go in unprepared, underequipped, and without enough troops; destabilize the country; kill a lot of innocent civilians; piss off a lot of people who weren't pissed at us to begin with; and not really deal with the people who were pissed at us to begin with. And he can't see how this is bad?

He's also still banging that same old Iraq=9/11 drum. Does he actually still believe this? Does anyone else? I'm not sure which is scarier, the idea that he is stupid enough to think there's a connection, or the idea that he thinks we are.

I turned on my radio hoping to hear local news this morning and got his speech instead. I don't know what possessed me to leave it on for 20 minutes of babbling. He thinks there's a connection between Iraq and the 9/11 attacks, but he doesn't think there's a connection between our actions and being attacked. He also seems to think we're being successful in Iraq. I think out definitions of "successful" differ.
