It's not the world that's heavy, it's just the things that you save

I am still watching the news out of NOLA, and I am still shocked and saddened and angered by the federal government's slow and shoddy response to so much human suffering. thete1 has been writing about the disaster for pretty much the whole time it's been going on, and her passion and talent and collections of links (for news, how you can help, opinions, etc.) make her LJ a very good source for Katrina ponderings and info.

That said, onward to the frivolity.
