Someone put some silly in my coffee today, or something. If I could even sort of draw, I would so draw a comic for this conversation:

"I don't see why I can't be Aragorn."

"Dude. L is obviously Aragorn."

"And no point asking who's Gandalf the Sparkly White..."

"Look at it this way: you get to be in all the battles and kick ass. And look pretty, which is more than I can say for me, if we're going off haircolor."

"You don't wanna be a non-human too? And dual-wield axes?"

"..."

*grin*

"Mello. That may be the geekiest thing you've ever said. You. Me. Bedroom. NOW."

***

ETA: The more I think about this, the eerier I find it that all the haircolors match for the character correspondences (in LOTR movieverse, at least); and the harder I find it to understand how the world can keep on turning despite its lack of fanart of Near as a wee-but-badass white wizard. :'-(

In the books, Faramir is pretty much the only one not tempted by the ring at all. He's kind of a scholar type, and very perceptive. I don't doubt he could hold his own in a fight and do anything he felt was necessary, be it physical or mental, but he's a lot more about brains than brawn.

Of course, so is Gandalf, so Near as a wizard totally works. :-) I think he does have a ruthless streak. (Ooh, he could rock that "You shall not pass!" scene. Eee.)

ah, i see-- i really need to rewatch the films, it's been ages since i've seen them.

heh, i think he'd be pretty good at it, but... the stick might be bigger than him...

They changed Faramir in the movies. The explanation was something like "We've spent 2 1/2 films building up how powerful the ring's allure is; we can't have someone saying 'I wouldn't use it even if my country were falling.'" Which I kind of understand, though I still don't love it.

Tiny wizard! And everyone would still get the hell out of his way. :-) Why can I not draw?
