Back from CA. I am sick. Every time I fly into Chattanooga, I tend to get ill. It's 'cause the city is like a bowl that traps all the allergens and crap. And also there's the hours breathing recycled air on the way in. Bleh.
Just read the scanlated new DN one-shot. Actually I had to read it twice, because the first time through, my brain was only able to sputter incoherently, OMFG, Near, you are so damn beautiful, and I did not glean any actual sense from the wordses and pickatures. :-) I loved the bit about the Q&A with L, and, like everyone else seems to have done, let out a little yelp of glee about L thinking Mello and Near both had a "nasty look" in their eyes. It seemed like kind of lazy writing overall, though, so I was mostly in it for the eye candy. (Besides, neat as the Q&A was, I refuse to believe that L never visited the House. Mello & Near were just too devoted to him for that to be the only time they were even close to interacting with him.)
Every time I sit down today, Lewis is right there on my lap. Most days he appears as if from nowhere when I sit down (srsly, sometimes I wonder how the hell he got there so fast), but today he's clingier than ever. I don't think most of my cats really have the emotional capacity to miss me when I'm gone, but it's possible that Lewis kinda does. He is purring super-hard.
Friday night I went into San Francisco to see ex-hubby, and we had a fun time. We went to Ti Couz, which is a crêperie, and so yummy. Then we wandered about and ended up at a fantasy & SF bookstore, where I asked the lady "What's cool that I wouldn't be able to find in Tennessee?" and she made some great recs.
So now I'm going to wait for my cold medicine to kick in, and laze about.

Date: 2008-02-10 11:48 pm (UTC)It's nice that you are on speaking terms with the ex. That's a good thing, truly.
Glad you got some books. I've only been to San Francisco twice, but I LOVE IT!
I haven't finished the DN manga series yet. I need to.
