Dear authors I work with,

When you haven't read that introductory message I send about how to get files and what to do with 'em, I can tell.[1]

Actually, I had just started to type this when I got a reply from the author who prompted it, and he gets points for two things: 1. He realized he should've read the instructions, and has now done so, and 2. He used the term "the Internets."

1. Usually I can tell because they have used Acrobat's cross-out or replace text tools, which are explicitly forbidden in said message because they are represented onscreen as teeny, weeny, eeny lines and carats easily missed by the layout person. Guess who gets to delete all the teeny weeny eeny marks and transfer the comments to nice, friendly, easily-noticed highlighting? That'd be me.
