drivin n cryin is playing in town tonight. Heh. The last time I saw them, I was approximately half my current age. If I felt comfortable trying to recruit anyone on such short notice, I'd almost go see them.

My Starbucks is making me its customer of the week next week. Free drinks! And Cute Cheerful Barista Boy is apparently not moving far, far away after all. Interesting.

I have just pushed Lewis out of my lap five times, and he has jumped back up six times. This is not a cat who understands the meaning of the word "No." Or of the words, "If you claw me, you go on the floor." >:-(

that is funny! josiah and i drove with a bunch of people to see them in atlanta and then in charleston, sc over thanksgiving '99. like, dave called my parents' house and said, "hey, we're driving to atlanta to see this band. wanna go?" and we were like, "ummm, sure, when are you leaving?" and he said "in 2 hours." and we were like, "OK!" so we piled in a van with dave, dave, leila, geoff & some girl (amanda?) and saw them at the Roxy in atlanta and then the next night somewhere in charlotte. i'd never seen them, but dave, geoff & leila were friends of theirs (kevin played leila's birthday party once & dave recorded it) so we got comps to the atlanta show. whee! i didn't like them all that much, but it was totally fun. and i really like the "fly me courageous" song.

They were very big around here when I was in high school. I always thought Kevn was cute. :) "Fly Me Courageous" is kind of the only good song on that album, IMHO. I like their earlier stuff better. (Really early, like "Scarred But Smarter.")

Are you implying that some cats actually act as if they understand the meaning of the word "no"? I suspect mine understand it, but they have no intention of obeying it.
