It's rainy and overcast today, so it's less intolerable than is usual for summer in Tennessee.
We all (Little Sis, Hed, Adopted Littlest Sis, and much of LS's Disney-store crew) saw OOTP last night. I love Luna in it.
I hate how much they had to leave out...especially at the start with Petunia, because the shock of her suddenly admitting she knows about dementors in the book is one of my favorite moments. It seemed to me a good way to highlight the seriousness of the war.
But I love Neville telling Harry about Bellatrix and his parents, even though it meant no Christmas on The Closed Ward part (which would have made me cry anyway).
I can't decide if I love Sirius calling Harry "James." It kind of makes my mouth go trembly, so I guess it was effective.
I hate that I feel I was implicitly promised some Bill Weasley and got none!
But I love Tonks.
Little Man is getting tricksy in his advanced age (almost 1). He loves to look out the window in my parents' bedroom at their house, maybe because he gets to stand on their bed when he does. He'll look out for... well, not quite hours on end, but lots of minutes on end. We all met up there before the movie, and I was hanging out with my mom and Little Man, and we took him in to look out the window. He looked for a bit, doing his big ol' HEEEE laugh, and then he very deliberately touched his head to the wood around the windowpane, and made a huge pout, and tears welled up in his eyes, and he cried, like: oh no, look, I have hit my little head.
My mom and I made much of him and got him to laugh again, so he looked out happily for a bit. And then he did it again, with real tears again and everything: oh, the woe, for I have conked my wee head. Either he was managing to convince himself he'd really hurt himself, or he is a scary good actor.
We would have been a bit less sympathetic if Little Sis had told us beforehand that he likes to stand on their bed and bonk his wee head against the wall. (My mom did later describe his reaction as "big emo tears." Heh.)
