I doubt anyone who reads my little scribblings is in favor of the marriage amendment, but could someone please help me understand the argument for it? How does it hurt anyone if gay couples can get married? HOW? Should I drop Mr. Santorum a line and ask him to enlighten me?

amusingly, I swear they're using it as a precedent setting point. Amusing in that they're finally using some type of foresight gene. Faulty, but hey, it's a start.
There's probably some 'change in morality' bullshit string they utter as well... because things are exactly as they were in the 1800s, yknow. Families are just the same, no changes, nope, nuh uh :)
