ALCS, here we come!
1:14 - Bronson Arroyo, will you marry me?
1:26 - Who replaced the Angels defense with the Keystone Kops? The LF, CF, and SS all went for a popup that nobody ended up getting.
1:41 - Seriously, Bronson. I love you.
1:45 - The commentators are talking about Millar and Mientkiewicz. Wonder Twin Powers, activate!
Ran to the bedroom to get a sweater, and all four littles are piled around Luna on the bed.
1:50 - I really miss Boston sometimes.
2:14 - Trot didn't strand these guys! 1-0 Sox.
2:17 - 2-0 on funky dribbly infield groundout by Millar.
2:20 - 2 2/3 innings, and Escobar's at 76 pitches. Oy.
2:22 - End of 3rd. If the game seems slow, that's because we're getting guys on base all over. The Angels' halves of the innings are like 6 minutes, and ours are like 20.
2:28 - Crud. Glaus slams one onto Lansdowne.
2:29 - But now the Angels are out. See? 7 minutes.
2:32 - Sox leadoff guy on again.
2:33 - Damon hits a purty single. Two on for Sox. Again.
2:35 - Bases full of Red Sox, nobody out, Manny up. Squee!
2:37 - WP. Nobody advances, though. Escobar can't find the strike zone. Pitch count at 90.
2:39 - 3-1 Sox on sac fly. It sure looked like it was going to hit the wall. Bye, Escobar.
2:45 - 4-1 on Ortiz's second double of the day!
2:47 - Bases full again, and just one out.
2:48 - 5-1 on Eckstein error!
2:50 - Tek grounds into DP. But 3 runs this inning.
2:56 - Angels already done. Bronson and I can register at REI and Best Buy. Damon coming up for the fourth time in the bottom of the 5th.
3:02 - Mueller singles. This is nuts. We've stranded like 10 guys.
3:03 - Damon on. Again.
3:07 - 6-1 on single by Manny! Bye-bye Shields.
3:10 - I've actually always liked Brendan Donnelly because first of all, I have a thing for pitchers with glasses, and second of all, he has the same last name as Valor.
3:13 - Don't like him so well when he strikes Ortiz out.
3:21 - My future husband just struck Vlad out again.
3:24 - Arroyo out of a bit of trouble - gets Glaus out with two on.
3:32 - Arroyo is a guitarist and PJ fan. Peter Gammons says he can play "a perfect version" of Black. Guh. Definitely marrying him. Will make him lose the cornrows, which can only be good for society in general.
3:33 - Sox have their first inning without a baserunner.
3:35 - Huh. My baby's back for the 7th.
3:37 - Walked his first guy. Getting pulled. Standing O from the crowd. *blows kisses at TV*
3:42 - Myers walks his first guy. Here comes Timlin.
3:45 - Sciosia's burning through his bench.
3:49 - Bases full of Angels.
3:51 - Figgins strikes out. Timlin has a chance to get out of it without facing Vlad.
3:55 - Crap. Walks in a run. Vlad up.
3:56 - FUCK. Tie game.
4:01 - No further damage.
4:08 - Sox down in order.
4:25 - Whew. Still tied.
4:38 - Going to the 9th. Still tied.
4:53 - Angels leave 'em loaded!
5:13 - Gaahhhhhh, still tied.
5:21 - DAVID ORTIZ! Yeah baby!
:-) You can see where I started to get a pounding headache, huh? Then almost before I had time to start rooting for Ortiz, bam! Into the Monster seats! Yayyyyyy! 8-6 the final. *picks self up off floor and takes several Midol*

Date: 2004-10-09 10:22 am (UTC)Yesterday I had a strong feeling that they needed to sweep this series. That may not mean they'll make it, but it was something they needed to do on the way. I think.
